Yesterday was really nice, and we got to go out on the “boat” on Lake Winona. I blew it up with the inflator hooked to the car’s cigarette socket, verified that no new leaks had sprung over the winter, hauled the makeshift transom and puny trolling motor out to the car along with the battery and life jackets, somehow launched the whole apparatus in the now-very-shallow canal, and we were off. It was so nice, I hardly even minded going back out later in my flip flops to wade along the shore trying to find the propeller, which somehow came undone just as we were landing.
