I got a little chuckle reading about your trip up here. I remember that distinctly because I think we did some work over the phone while you were making that trip. I remember you breaking from the conversation by saying, "well, I need to check in with Lope."

I was particularly excited, too :) I can't wait to see my niephew!!!!! And hold him/her, and squeeze him/her, and kiss him/her, and buy presents for him/her, and take him/her to fun places, and buy processed food for him/her (because every aunt has a God-appointed duty to facilitate gluttony and indulgence), and be so blessed to have a baby in the family.

I'm so excited for you both!! Although I only have my experience as your sister to draw from, I can assert with the utmost confidence that you will be an extraordinary father. Congratulations :)

o Colin. You've gone and made me cry again. I've scarcely done anything else today. Weepy weepy Wee... but this time tears of joy for you, for Pen and most of all the little life budding at the center of it. He/She is so fortunate, so loved already, so completely desired and deserved... I feel privileged to watch it all unfold from the sidelines. Truly.

And also, the fact that you two have chosen to reveal the news to the whole of the internet on Finny's B-day seems somehow extra special to me. (Not so much to you, I suspect, but good things have historically been revealed to the world on this day, at least in my experience, so it seems worthy of mention.)
