Ouch. Every writer’s worst fears—rejection, death, and being passed over for Fabio—confronted and illustrated. I still wince at the first paragraph of that letter.

The posters went up near the Journalism and English departments of the state's college campuses in late Spring, inspiring passing students to continue writing after graduation and participate in the Writer's Center's programs, classes and workshops. The rejection letters were anonymously posted on department bulletin boards.
